Should we name new kitty Jax or Fivel?

Creative Packaging

I should have been an engineer. As Joe and I were wrapping up (haha) the last of our moving items, we came to some of the more important things; things we didn't want to pack and move until we absolutely had to. So by the time we got to our computer, we were out of all our bubble wrap, packaging tape, and other packing essentials. What you see pictured is our computer tower surrounded by 32 styrofoam plates and held together by some bungee cords that I thought might be helpful in the move. Boy, were they ever. We wrapped the whole thing in some towels and called it good. Genius? I like to think so, thanks.

On that note, all our worldly posessions are somewhere en route to Virginia. We packed up our cubes in what can only be described as a miracle (that we finished packing, that we finished on time, that we didn't hurt ourselves or each other, etc.) More posts to follow on the exciting lives of movers, but for now I need a nap :)

Whew...

I got the job. At least I'll have something to do all summer...and then for a lot of years :)

Go shorty, it's your birthday

Since Joe is at a conference in San Francisco until Thursday night, I decided to be kind of productive and start packing. Liz told me about these awesome wardrobe boxes at UHaul that you can just transfer your clothes over onto hangers and not fold them all up...SO cool because I HATE folding clothes (I'm a roller, personally) and it was pretty much the easiest packing ever. I just think it's funny that they named the shorter boxes "shorty"; I get such a kick out of it.

Since everyone is asking, here is the run-down on the moving plans (subject to change at any moment)
-April 21: We get our Relocube and load it up.
-April 23: The Relocube is picked up.
-April 29: Our 2nd anniversary. We check out of our apartment, move Joe's things to Salt Lake, then take an overnight flight into DC.
-April 30: We close on our condo, and Relocube gets dropped off.
-April 30-May 3: Moving in, buying furniture, etc.
-May 4: Joe flies back to Salt Lake for work. Boo.

Not a huge fan of that last part, but I don't really have a choice. I need to get settled and working in Virginia, and Joe will meet up with me at some point during the summer. Good times.
