Should we name new kitty Jax or Fivel?

January Events We Failed to Blog About

Joe's birthday was on January 9th...the big 24! I was in California on his birthday, but we celebrated that weekend at his parents' house.

Lew, Joe and I went to the Utah Auto Show and saw lots of expensive cars. There were some really neat concept cars and other things that Joe is more qualified to talk about. We have tons of photos on flickr.

Joe and I finally caught a film in Sundance! We went during the day to avoid the BITTER cold, and saw a film of shorts to avoid being TOTALLY bored. It was really fun!

Mittens had her first grooming appointment, and they put the cutest bow in her hair! She's all nice and clean with short nails...for a few days at least.

More Mittens...

Mittens has taken over the bed in "Joe's room" (i.e. the place for things that don't have another place).

Right before I took this picture I said "Say cheese!" and on queue, Mittens said "Meow!"

She doesn't like me as much as Joe, except lately she figured out I am the one that gives her food. We'll see what happens.

Mittens has a habit of running away and then dropping dead. She'll make it a few feet, then give up. It's hilarious.

Asher Post!

I got to play Mommy to my nephew Asher for 5 days in California, and I had so much fun! Asher's schedule was a little off...he had just gotten home from Hawaii, and then a stranger was taking care of him, but he adapted well and we were BFF after the first day. He is by far the happiest baby I have ever been around, and I was glad to spend time with him and my brother (and the dogs)! There are 5 million more photos of Asher on our flickr account here

Iowa Trip

Hey Everyone it's Joe. I have been following the 2008 election pretty closely, so I decided to go to Iowa before the caucus and soak it all in. Greg and Tiffany Welch were nice enough to drive 2 hours each way to get me from Omaha and let me stay in their house. Greg and I knocked doors, went to candidate rallies, and even got to meet Mitt Romney. It was a ton of fun and a great way to spend New Years. When Dennis Kucinich narrowly defeats Duncan Hunter this November, I'll be able to say I was there where it all started. More photos here
